How to engineer quality portrait photography in Dublin

Last week I did a bit of portrait photography in Dublin for a large international engineering firm, BalfourBeatty at their Ireland HQ. They’re involved in building roads, railway stations, utilities infrastructure and commercial property in Ireland and around the world. There were a number of group shots to do and some stand-alone portraits. Time was tight as these guys are busy people and spending a long period setting up elaborate lighting wasn’t an option. The style brief from the design company was “Contemporary business, upbeat, not too formal”. This was one of those occasions where ‘keeping it simple’ yielded the best results: There was a glass and steel stairwell, which provided a clean simple background and enough ambient light with some fill in flash and some strategically placed fill-in reflectors held in place by an assistant. http://www.bbireland.ie  #construction
