Property Photography

I was asked to do some real estate / property photography recently for a Dublin based client. The property in question is a mid-terrace Victorian red-brick family house with lots of character, and a modern feel. Some years earlier they had commissioned the architecture firm www.ambient-architecture.ie to energy efficiently renovate the entire house, convert the attic and extend the ground floor plan to achieve 2 distinct living spaces, a front adult room and an open plan kitchen / living / dining area for the entire family as well as an utility space with rear external access for family members who take part in outdoor sport activities. A large glazed roof-light over the kitchen dining area, flooding the entire space and the inner rear reception room with natural light. Although north-facing, the space is always bright. The clients also had great taste and added individual style to the interiors. The upstairs jacuzzi with a view onto the Botanic Gardens seals the deal for me, however. The lighting was kept to a minimum allowing the ambient light to do the work. Some fill-light was used however, and a fair deal of tweaking the images at the processing stage.
